Membership Matters

By joining The Arc, you are joining 70,000 members across New York State who want to see positive change for people with disabilities. The voice of The Arc and our statewide organization, NYSARC, Inc. is heard and respected on such matters as:

Position statements on the ethical and humane treatment of people with disabilities;

Legislative platforms advising law makers on how proposed or current legislation can effect the lives of people with disabilities in their schools and in their communities; and

Advocacy for reseach and education for the prevention of developmental disabilities.

Your membership gives us greater representation in our state association - NYSARC, Inc. Your membership also directly supports local people and services here in Schuyler County. The Arc has provided service to our local community and to people with disabilities for over 30 years. We can be counted on when people need us. Who would have thought 30 years ago that parents, professionals, friends and supporters could have achieved so much. Your help can make the difference in keeping these services sound and strong. We cannot always depend on government or grant funding to make things happen that are so important to families and individuals with disabilities. And since we are not a government agency, we depend on generous people like you to help.

So please let us know you that you continue to support our initiatives and services to people with disabilities and their families.
